State of Wisconsin Medicaid Program
In 2008, the State of Wisconsin Medicaid Program began using the measures in CheckPoint in their hospital Pay-for performance program. The Medicaid pay-for-performance program increases the payment amount a hospital can receive based on the hospitals willingness to report specific measures and the hospital’s performance on those measures.
Dean Health System
Health Plan (DHP) continues to be committed to providing their members and providers with information about the care and service provided by their network hospitals. As part of this commitment, DHP has implemented a pay-for-performance program that rewards hospitals for participating in public reporting activities, such as the Checkpoint and The Leapfrog Group’s patient safety survey. DHP is currently monitoring hospital’s participation in CheckPoint and their performance on selected measures.
Employee Trust
Fund
The State of Wisconsin Employee Trust Fund (state employees health insurance) informs their members that a hospital is reporting selected measures to CheckPoint, by indicating participation in their annual “It’s Your Choice” plan selection handbook.
Security Insurance
Security Health Plan takes safety in hospitals very seriously. We monitor this through data from CheckPoint. Security Health Plan monitors five measures in the area of patient safety and medical errors at affiliated hospitals. All of Security Health Plan's affiliated hospitals have chosen to participate in CheckPoint. No less than annually, Security Health Plan's Quality Improvement Committee, an all physician committee, reviews CheckPoint's Error Prevention information on all affiliated hospitals.
