 Medical and surgical
measures are submitted by hospitals to the CMS through several software vendors.
MetaStar collects and summarizes this data for
use in CheckPoint. Error prevention measures are directly entered by hospitals into
the system. In the future, WHA will collect data from other organizations such as PeriDataNet, for birth measures and from the WHA Information Center for mortality,
volume, and utilization measures.
